Complex trauma and occupational stress
Care for the person.
Beyond the shift.
Therapy and psychiatric care for first responders, DOC and corrections staff, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.

Capable at work. Carrying a great deal.
Repeated exposure to crisis can follow you home as disrupted sleep, irritability, emotional distance, persistent vigilance, or memories that return at the wrong moment. Earlier trauma can also become harder to manage under sustained pressure.
My nursing background includes high-acuity care, trauma-exposed populations, and juvenile corrections. I bring that perspective into a calm, direct conversation about your symptoms, relationships, work, and the life you want beyond your role.
First responders and dispatchers.
I see law enforcement officers, firefighters, EMS professionals, and 911 dispatchers. We can work with the impact of difficult calls, repeated exposure to violence or loss, disrupted sleep, persistent vigilance, and the shift from operational readiness to being present at home. Therapy can address emotional distance, anger, grief, guilt, and concerns about trust or asking for help. Your own experience guides the assessment.
DOC and corrections professionals.
I work with Department of Corrections (DOC) employees, correctional officers, juvenile rehabilitation staff, correctional healthcare teams, and other professionals in secure settings. Treatment makes room for the effects of sustained vigilance, threats, violence exposure, institutional pressures, and responsibilities that continue after a difficult shift.
Physicians, nurses, and healthcare professionals.
Physicians, advanced practice clinicians, nurses, behavioral health professionals, and other healthcare workers can seek care for complex trauma, repeated exposure to suffering, grief, moral distress, or strain beyond work. We look at the whole clinical picture rather than assuming every symptom comes from your profession.
Therapy that connects with your life.
Options include EMDR and trauma-focused psychotherapy, supportive psychotherapy, emotional regulation and coping skills, and work on interpersonal patterns. Individual sessions focus on your own experience. Couples, family, or group sessions may support a different set of agreed goals.
Psychiatric assessment and medication management can be integrated when appropriate. We review the treatment purpose, the pace, and how changes show up in your daily functioning.
Support for the people at home.
Partners, spouses, children ages 5+, and other family members can also seek care. A family may be living around rotating shifts, worry about safety, emotional withdrawal, interrupted sleep, or conflict that keeps returning. Your own experience deserves space in treatment.
Individual support can focus on your stress, coping, boundaries, and identity beyond caregiving. Couples or family sessions can work on communication, closeness, parenting, and making room for each person’s needs. We clarify treatment roles, consent, and confidentiality before shared care.
When substance use becomes part of the picture.
If alcohol, cannabis, prescription medication, or another substance has become a way to manage sleep, tension, or distress, we can discuss it directly. Care can explore triggers, coping alternatives, recovery goals, and the connection with trauma or mood symptoms.
I can assess psychiatric needs, provide clinically appropriate psychotherapy, and coordinate with an addiction treatment team. Specialized medication services, withdrawal care, or a more intensive program follow an individual assessment and confirmation of service availability.
Coverage and confidentiality.
For a work-related injury or condition, ask about Washington L&I. We review claim eligibility, billing readiness, and authorization before covered care. Private-pay fees and current insurance information are available before scheduling.
We explain confidentiality and its legal limits at the beginning. L&I care includes required reporting to the insurer. Employer fitness-for-duty assessments and independent medical examinations follow separate evaluation pathways.
A place to set the role down.
Tell me what you are carrying. We can clarify a useful place to begin.
